Pinellas County SCORE Chapter Receives “Platinum” Rating

The Pinellas County Chapter of SCORE (formerly the Service Corps of Retired Executives) has received the highest rating issued by the National Organization, Platinum.  This is a direct reflection of the efforts of the 50+ local volunteers in the areas of volunteering, mentoring, presenting workshops, community involvement and following up with their SCORE clients helping them achieve their business goals.

In our business at Clarity Creative Media, we speak to a lot of individuals just starting their business.  We highly recommend that they utilize the tools and mentoring available through SCORE.  Why pay to learn what it takes to start a business or to learn from your previous business mistakes when you can learn from qualified Mentors for free?

Founded in 1964 SCORE is a nonprofit association headquartered in Herndon, VA. and is dedicated to educating entrepreneurs and helping small businesses start, grow and succeed nationwide.  They provide free confidential mentoring services and free or low-cost workshops on a broad variety of topics including writing a business plan, advertising and marketing strategies, negotiating leases, trademark registrations and navigating local government licensing and regulatory issues.

Nationally SCORE is a valuable network of 13,000+ volunteers who offer small business entrepreneurs confidential business mentoring services by industry veterans at no charge.  SCORE volunteer mentors have the knowledge and experience to help any small business owner get the help they need.  Their dedicated volunteers represent over 3,000 years of “hands on” experience across 62 industries.

Pinellas County SCORE also provides local workshops and events to connect new and existing small business owners with the people and information they need to start, grow, and maintain their businesses, as well as a full series of online workshops and webinars available 24/7.  SCORE provides resources, templates and tools to assist entrepreneurs in developing strategies and plans they need to navigate their way to small business success.  Pinellas County Score can be at reached at:

Proof That We Do Actually Work.

Redesigning the website for the “Miss Virginia” is a fun project.  We get to get out of the office, get on the water, meet some great people and catch some fish.  However we do actually work while on these trips and here’s proof.  This is John getting the bio’s of the Deckhands Mark Spong and Josh Jaquish while they’re hard at work cleaning customer’s catches.

Customer Highlights

For those of you who follow this page, from time to time, we like to highlight some of our clients and the products and services they offer.  This week we suggest taking a look at these two companies:

1.  Dolphin Deep Sea Fishing, who’s flagship boat is the 85 foot “Two Georges”, an icon of the Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks.  Working with these people has been great.  In gathering information for their website we had the opportunity to go on two fishing trips with them and, although we were working, had a blast both times.  The owners and staff are all great, friendly people and we’re glad to have met them and to have established a friendship with them.  You can find out more information about their fishing charters at www.twogeorgesdeepseafishing.com

2.  West Coast Sunglasses began as a wholesale provider of sunglasses to merchants and retailers throughout the country but recently began selling their line to the public via their website.  They offer a huge selection of quality sunglasses at incredible prices.  You can view their collection and pricing at www.westcoastsunglasses.com

Till next time,

John & Jeremy

What’s been happening since my last post.

I apologize for not being more diligent in my posting activities, however my lack of communication is not for lack of good reason.  REASON# 1- I’ve been extremely busy finishing my studies at Pinellas Technical Education Center (PTEC) and graduated on this past Friday, March 21st.

The following is an abridged list of what has been accomplished at Clarity Creative Media:

  • I have partnered with a fellow student Jeremy Angulo.  Jeremy was without question the best coder in our graduating class and probably one of the best coders ever to attend PTEC’s Web Development & Design course.  Our skill sets compliment each other extremely well and he is a tremendous asset to the company and our clients.
  • Jeremy and I began designing websites professionally before graduation completing sites for Home Passage, LLC, Dolphin Deep Sea Fishing, Inc., West Coast Sunglasses, Inc. and Energy Innovations, Inc.  You can find links to those sites on our website www.csquaredmedia.net or on connect on the menu of this blog.
  • We formed a Florida Limited Liability Company.
  • We have begun our marketing strategy and have 5 additional clients in our pipeline at the moment.
  • I have been accepted to become a member of SCORE (Service Corp of Retired Executives) and begin my training with them Tuesday, March 25th.

Again my apologies for not keeping you informed.  Look for regular updates from myself or Jeremy on a regular basis from this point forward.

All the Best,

John Rodgers

Debbieism’s

Debbie is my wife and the love of my life.  She is the type of person that lights up a room when she enters it and people automatically gravitate to her.  No matter what the circumstance, Debbie is the type of person that can find the positive out of any situation and is an inspiration to anyone she meets.  She has this habit of writing inspirational post-it notes and leaving them strategically placed in our house.  Over the years I have collected and saved them all and wanted to share a few of my favorites with you:

  • If you’re living your life like there’s no God, you better be right.
  • Be as good a person as your pet believes you are.
  • Trust in the wisdom of God’s plan.
  • To whom much is given, much is expected.
  • The will of God will never take you where the grace of God will not protect you.
  • Smooth seas do not make skillful sailors
  • From the Hebrew Talmud: “Be very careful if you make a woman cry, because God counts her tears”.

I think the last one was meant for our Son-In-Law.

Till next time,

John
